I can assure you conservative Christian put a lot more thinking into what they believe than any fundie skeptic does.

Aw, thank you...I should read that everyday...I actually do think it about 4 days a week!
And practice it...I HAVE to!
Sometimes I think self-employed people with their own businesses find it easier to do!
I've shared this before, but I remember being a young child and being somewhat scared of the bible. I remember thinking that there was some evil stuff in there. And there is. And it is from mankind (evil = non-love). Man would be the one raping and pillaging and murdering and saying it was God ordered. (History repeats.)
Where there is love, there is God.
Too many believe in a schizophrenic, hypocritical, back-stabbing, not-to-be-trusted god because "the bible tells me so".
Wake up. Use the heart and mind God actually GAVE YOU and seek out the truth. There are great, beautiful truths in the bible, mixed in with a bunch of hapless nonsense babbled by an incoherent mankind. RIGHTLY DIVIDE the word of truth.
Again, look for LOVE... and you will find God.
God (who IS Love) talks through all of us, and works through ALL of us. You just have to look for the love. Study 1 Corinthians 13.
It's so simple a child could understand. And most do. Like I did, knowing that there was something beautiful and Godly about that bible and that there was also something that wasn't quite right about that bible.
Rightly divide the word of truth.
Do the work. Study.
DIVIDE.
LOVE VERSUS NON-LOVE.
GOD IS LOVE.
Destroy the Chaff.
Cling to the Truth.
GOD *IS* LOVE.
Love is your GUIDE.
Your measuring stick.
DISCERN TRUTH.
