Relax. We're on the same page on that. I just disagree with the methodology of the hateful street preachers who were supposedly showing forgiveness and love.

Halloween. All Hallowed Eve. The night before All Hallowed Day. The night before All Saints Day. It doesn't glorify death at all.

My, does this not sound a bit racist and adversarial?

Those alt-christians are a hoot...

Most of "us people" call Jesus a LIBERAL SOCIALIST who did everything to help the POOR, CARE for the sick and generally traipsed around the country side proclaiming the good news :

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

It don't get any more socialistic than this..

No. Jesus said,

Matthew 5:20
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Does this mean that you think your own righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees?

Not even going to go into the idea that I think you missed the point of the statement he was making, because you are taking it LITERALLY.

In other words, Your righteousness must exceed the writers of the book?

Actually...no. The "righteousness" of the scribes and pharisees was a "righteousness" based on observance of the Mosaic Law. The problem is that no one is really righteous that way, as no one can obey it perfectly. The righteousness that saves is the righteousness Jesus gives us when we trust in him.

And, when we trust in Him we love Him. And, when we love Him we will keep His sayings. Therefore, we conclude that sin, i.e., adultery, fornication, lying, drunkiness, reveling, etc..., is a byproduct of not loving Jesus; it's a heart problem. That's why circumcision of the heart is needful.
