NO drug law has ever been about protecting health or safety, that is a scam they rely on people falling for, dont you think its kind of strange how consistent the flow of drugs is, despite all their 'aggressive' policing? Cmon, numerous cities/states have major heroin epidemics going on! LOL
Yes, a major problem. 40 000 Americans die every year of drug overdoses. Besides I did not say anything about policing. I said before that the system was under-regulated, which led to this epidemic. With proper regulation of prescribers, the problem would have been more manageable.

Why lump Marijuana wirh legal and illegal drugs from which people overdose? One would not consider the downside of alcohol in considering the safety of coffee or soft drinks. Next week recreational use of grass becomes completely legal in Canada and regulated similarly to tobacco and alcohol. I wonder what religious reasons for a Christian to consider grass any different than alcohol or tobacco?

You'll have to ask the person I was responding to.

Its like anything else, to be used in moderation, they can be used medicinally or recreational, nothing wrong either way about it.

Imo, the LAWS REGULATING these drugs are more wrong/sinful than someone using them, its not a Govts place to create or regulate such things in the first place, in other words, this is something 'Caesar' cannot ask of the people, its not his to ask for.

So there is nothing wrong with a Christian using Marijuana where it is legal to do so?

Already answered in post #5, and then explained further by mentioning the harmful effects of psycho-toxins contained in pot. Nate added that it as harmful as tobacco, which kills thousands every year. Why don't you just read the thread as opposed to asking questions already answered?

Now that some states have it legal to use, is it wrong for a Christian to smoke weed. Ive come across youtube videos and see people on their social media pages that brag about doing it and brag about their faith too in other posts, but its technically legal in their state, so no different than smoking a cigarette in their eyes im guessing. I dont smoke anything or ever plan to, but im sure I will be accused of judging if I told another believer not to.

So is it wrong for Christians to use marijuana if they live in a legal state or should they not be using it at all (recreational use wise)?
Where does the Bible say it's wrong to use marijuana? Numerous medical uses for marijuana have been discovered. God must have created it for a reason
.

Goodness Finn, do some real research. As harmful as tobacco? When one ingests the tar and nicotine from a cigarette, the nicotine freezes the tiny fibers that protect our lungs and constricts the air ways, tar gets absorbed into tissue. With marijuana, the THC dilates the passageways, tar is discharged. Did you know emphysema patients use it for relief? As far as the psycho-toxins go....too much of anything is not good, even water can kill you if you drink too much of it.

Take it up with the person saying it is in par with cigarettes. I have read some medical articles supporting that claim. Feel free to disagree.

https://www.lung.org/stop-smoking/sm...ng-health.html

Smoking marijuana clearly damages the human lung. Research shows that smoking marijuana causes chronic bronchitis and marijuana smoke has been shown to injure the cell linings of the large airways, which could explain why smoking marijuana leads to symptoms such as chronic cough, phlegm production, wheeze and acute bronchitis.

Smoking marijuana has also been linked to cases of air pockets in between both lungs and between the lungs and the chest wall, as well as large air bubbles in the lungs among young to middle-aged adults, mostly heavy smokers of marijuana. However, it's not possible to establish whether these occur more frequently among marijuana smokers than the general population.4

Smoking marijuana can harm more than just the lungs and respiratory system - it can also affect the immune system and the body's ability to fight disease, especially for those whose immune systems are already weakened from immunosuppressive drugs or diseases, such as HIV infection.

Smoking marijuana hurts the lungs' first line of defense against infection by killing cells that help remove dust and germs as well as causing more mucus to be formed. In addition, it also suppresses the immune system.
