How possibly can there be a place of eternal torment, never mind one created by our Heavenly Father ?.

And his voice was like the sound of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.

Jesus says there is a Hell and many are ending up in eternal torment.

No, he didn't, and no they are not, as there is no such thing as eternal torment:

The words endless torment (adialeipton timorion), eternal imprisonment (aidios eirgmos) and eternal punishment (aidios kalasin) do not appear anywhere in the Greek New Testament, at least not in conjunction. Neither, will you find the term aidios timorion or eternal torment. Therefore, whoever says that there is an eternal (aidios) time set for punishment (kalasin) beyond this life is sadly mistaken.

It's a limited duration of aionion (αἰώνιον - a period of time as in an age) kalasin (Κόλασιν - chastisement or correction) which is in view, but the day and hour that it begins and ends is unpredictable. If it were eternal, then the word Aidios would have been used. But not even Jesus used the word for eternal in conjunction with any kind of punishment or life for that matter. What you have been taught to believe is bogus;
not genuine or true.

Dear Rst: The "theory" of eternal punishment & torture will not, and cannot work to keep the towns folk in check! It will keep them enveloped in a dark "myth" & deep darkness within themselves.

"Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your vision is clear, your whole body also is full of light. But when it is poor, your body is full of darkness. Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness."'

That verse is a Hebraic idiom about greed...

When the King James translated the word Gehenna into English as hell fire that helped put flames in biblical hell.
Gehenna was just a garbage pit outside of Jerusalem where things were destroyed forever Not burning forever.
The punishment for the wicked is as Psalm 92:7 says the wicked will be ' destroyed forever '.
We are asked to ' repent ' if we do Not wish to ' perish ' ( be destroyed forever ) as per 2nd Peter 3:9.

Repent or turn away from our sin and place our faith in Jesus are two actions that gives us hope of eternal salvation. But what does it mean to place our faith in Christ? Many here absolutely refuse what Jesus has said. They feel His decrees are oppressive and abusive. So, they have convinced themselves that the Bible is wrong or corrupted. Many have NOT repented and placed their faith in a made up god.

Gehenna was a garbage dump. It is where they put trash that had no value. It was rotting and stinking of death. People need to wake up and stop their nonsense or they will end up in the trash pit, hell.
