As it is written;

“The LORD is just in all His ways and holy in all His works.”

“Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”

The righteous walk in the ways of the LORD and the upright are blameless because of His works.
They were doing the right kinds of works; but the problem with them was that they were practicing iniquity on the side (see Matthew 7:23).

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit just like a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.”

Does that help?

Still doesn't cut it.

For the doing of miracles, casting out demons, and doing wonderful works in the name of Jesus isn't fruit.

This is also related to psalm 111:10

Psa 111:10**The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
