What a way for a new pastor to introduce himself to his congregation. Disguised as a homeless man he experienced the unkindness that many show toward the homeless.
I'm ashamed to admit that I really do believe this same thing would have happened if he had come to my church!
Not that they don't love the things of the Lord, but we have been so blessed by God we don't even take the time to relate to the circumstances of others.
If that video is true, then it's exactly the type of 'enlightening' (to put it mildly) that would need to be done in most churches each Sunday/Saturday. Frauds and hypocrites abound in most "churches".
This would be an awesome and desperately needed awakening. Too bad it won't stick though. Even the best sermons and messages go in one ear and out the other when people leave. That's how deep the sickness goes, and how extensive the stench is.
It's easy to give lip service to Jesus, but living by his most basic message gets ignored, and the churches willfully endorse and support that. That's why I avoid most churches. They're disgusting.
I did that the first year that I turn to Christ and got a living God on my spiritual space, where I went to a big city and visited some churches, one person gave me a piece of candy during the service at this church...... Another church a security guard guarded me but allowed me to stay and attend a bible study, another I came to give a witness of God, and they escorted me out of the building... In another church, I was told not to take holy Communion .... All I was doing was trying to break and pride I had in the church where I regularly went, as God resist the proud
This should be top priority in churches, and the biggest focus for discussion. But of course, most will just look away rather than face the ugly truth, and most important of all, change accordingly.
Even here, it should garner much attention and discussion, but people are again largely quiet, criminally quiet in a spiritual sense. Between avoidance and admitting it / facing it, the easy way is taken.
Many so-called "Christians" should be wearing T-shirts with FRAUD written on the front and back of them.

A Mormon bishop did pretty much the same thing back in 2013 and got pretty much the same response.
It's a mighty sad reflection on Christian love and compassion.
“One of the gentlemen that approached me and asked me to leave the property felt horrible (afterward), and it would be easy to judge him,” Bishop Musselman said. “But what I didn’t know about this was that just one year before that time his granddaughter had come to his church … and helped an old man get into his car, and at the time that she did that, he was faking, and he stole her purse and drove off. So he came out because he was concerned about the safety of people, and his experience caused him to view me through a different lens.”
I find this to be an eye opener maam. I know the guy would be approached by many of the brothers and sisters at the Kingdom hall, but I am fully aware that many would treat him just like the treatment he received there as well.
Christians are under obligation to help the poor, although we are primarily to help them spiritually, we are obligated to help them in needs as well. The problem is to ascertain an honest appraisal of their actual need. Keep in mind in the United States there are plenty of jobs available in the work force, yet many have chosen to burden others rather than work. Perhaps you are familiar with this verse: (2 Thessalonians 3:10) . . .“If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat.”
Most homeless at least in this country are reaping what they have sown, however that does not excuse our lack of compassion. If a person truly is homeless, and wants to get back on his feet, you will find many who are willing to help them. I fully believe that many in our congregation would do just that. But even among us, many do not live the faith like they should. Again that video was a great eye opener in which I believe most everyone should see.
