I also specifically reject the gospel of Thomas, and many of the others on the list, because they are said to be gnostic.

Passages that refute gnosticism:

1 John 1:1, 1 John 4:1-3, 2 John 1:7, Matthew 14:31, Luke 24:42-43,

Matthew 26:29, Mark 14:25, Luke 22:15-18.

Hebrews 5:6-7.

Could you direct me to the Scripture that uses the phrase “gospel of grace?” I find the phrases “gospel of Jesus Christ” and “gospel of God” in Scripture, but I’m not seeing “gospel of grace.” It’s possible that I may have missed it. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve always considered the gospel to be of God’s grace, a gift from Him to us. Perhaps you can explain what you mean by “gospel of grace?”

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Acts 20:24, "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

Gospel of grace referred to is found at 1 Cor 15:1-4

They were the ones that were written by the apostles, and they were the ones the apostles endorsed.

Having said that, why should I trust some guy 200 years later? We know that there was false teaching invading the church in the 1st Century.

9. The Gospel of Philip.
10. The Gospel of Thomas.

Why would someone include a bunch of heretical gnostic forgeries?

So who decides what gospels are reliable and sufficient for instruction?

And who identified the gospels you accept?

Ok, thank you. Not what I was expecting, but close enough! I did do a search in a concordance app, and out of 101 occurrences of the word grace, Acts 20:24 didn’t pop up. Thanks again!

Thank you. I concur. The gospel is - Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. Praise God for His wonderful gift!
