You know MysticPhD, what you posted about state constitutions is all fine and dandy, however, you know one I know that the federal government and the Supreme Court supersedes anything that state governments have to say and this is what the Supreme Court has to say about state constitutions pertaining to religion.
The Constitution limits the Feds to certain areas and the bulk of the rest are RESERVED to the people and the STATES. You misunderstand, ptsum. There must be a separation of religion and state . . . NOT God and state . . . that is a huge difference that probably needs to be tested once and for all . . . thanks to the obnoxious atheists constantly misconstruing it and causing trouble. God is not confined to ANY RELIGION. Protecting FREEDOM OF RELIGION means allowing each of us to define the God we believe in (including the non-existent one of atheists) . . . but that the country was founded on belief in God (of unspecified characteristics) is indisputable.
Just because they were Deists doesn't mean they were Christians. Yes, all the things posted mentioned God, but not Jesus. Back then pretty much everyone believed in God because that was what was taught...but that doesn't mean they were Christians or believed in the story of Jesus. Thomas Jefferson rewrote the bible to take out all mention of the divinity Jesus. So, no, this country was not based on Christian principles. And regardless, the highest law of the land never mentioned God in any way. If it was that important to them, shouldn't they have at least mentioned it?

I asked this question because, it apparently isn't PC to even acknowledge God these days. Is the USA still one Nation under God or many different gods?
I'd say it depends on an individual's faith or lack there of...in my opinion, it is.
Thats because our god as a nation is money... Did you know that the Israelites werent allowed to have any image of a man or beast or any creature on their money or in the temple, synagogue or home...
Just take a long pause and really think about what God was trying to tell humanity here and look at modern society and some of americas heathen traditions going all the way back to our founding...
