We sponsor a child through Compassion Int. It’s a commitment to write the child on a regular basis and send money regularly, plus extra for birthday and Christmas. We really enjoy her letters back to us.

Has anyone given either World Vision or Compassion International? I want to sponsor a child but not sure which organization to work with.
World Vision has been accused of being secular as of late. Compassion International is a good org. Roughly 80% of donations go to charity. The rest is salary and expenses.
Ministrywatch.org can show you all the site that you can donate.
I use to sponsor through Compassion International and I have correspondent children through Compassion International right now. I have friends who sponsor with World Vision too. I think that both orgs are very good. I have kept in touch with one of my Compassion correspondent children. They seem to be very connected to the ministry and the connections seem to stay with them after they leave the program. I also sponsor with a smaller org. in Honduras and some of the sponsors are also Compassion sponsors. They are very close to their sponsor children and visit them often. God bless.
There is no such thing as loving a child too much. [/quote]
