Oh don't worry... STX bashes Cincy any chance they get. They don't even really know the city. They hype up Louisville all the time in that forum acting like it is heaven on Earth. Louisville has nothing on Cincinnati, from a prosperous downtown, construction projects (how many of theirs have went on hold?), new transportation plans (streetcar), urban neighborhoods, an urban feel, etc. They are just trolling in the Cincinnati forum. It happens. I would take boring Lexington over Louisville anyday.

Indianapolis has a great downtown and activity, but once you get away from the Circle, the downtown area is very bland and seems very suburban. I don't like that. Although Canal Walk (is that what its called?) is awesome!

A study for only 2 years(2008-2009) is not a good sampling.

Perhaps, but I think the intent was to present a snapshot in time, not necessarily a long-term trend.

After everyone has spoken, it looks like the results are conclusive:

Cincy is far more dynamic and vibrant than Indy. Indy is comparatively dull and lifeless with an uninspired and boring downtown. Cincy's economy is far more thriving than Indy, and Cincy's architecture is noteworthy, while Indy has no historic architecture and is an aesthetically forgettable city. Indy has little cuisine of note, while Cincy is deep and diverse in that regard. Cincy has world-class markets and shopping, while Indy is a chain capital.

This discussion is over. Cincy wins in every category vis-a-vis Indy.

Then please do yourself a favor and move there, dude.

On at least this point, though, the University of Cincinnati disagrees.

Skyline and LaRosa's are crap, too.

Go Reds!

Dude, please. There is no way the University of Cincinnati is going to say that Indy, a depressed metro area with 1.7 million, has more economic activity than Cincy, a thriving metro area of 2.2 million.

No fan of LaRosa's, but Indy pizza is far worse. Further, what Indy restaurant can I find in other cities? That's right, none. Indy has one culinary recognition - well done beef.

Read it. And?

That study doesn't support your argument. Do you understand the scope and purpose of the study?

Seriously?!

You just turned any point you are trying to make, and turned it into anything but credible. This entire thread had gone silent for almost two weeks, and you come back to bash Cincinnati. You are clearly envious of what the city has to offer, if not, you would have shut up a long time ago. No body in this forum gives a rat's a$$ about Indy here, and you do not see people from the Cincy forum going to the Indy forum and bashing Indy. Why? Simply no one cares about that city. Now go back to the Indy forum which is dead compared to the Cincinnati forum.

Cincinnati has so much more construction going on than Indy, Cincinnati is moving towards a lot more progress. The city has history, and doesn't need to eat up 300 square miles to continue population growth. Indy is nothing but a big suburb. I am sorry, I am done trying to talk nice about Indy when we have forumers like yourself who come in here to start sh**. It get's annoying, and you are showing true attributes of a troll. If you don't want to believe it, all you have to do is look at your post from two days ago.

You bring up the University of Cincinnati... hell, Indy doesn't even have a university on that level. That's ok though, because in a few years it will only get better on that thriving campus. Because Cincinnati (a real city with so much construction and progress) will soon be connected from the riverfront park, the banks, downtown, uptown, and onto the universities of Xavier and UC by a streetcar. So the numerous fortune 500 companies that are in downtown will now be connected with two great universities. Not to mention some thriving and up and coming city neighborhoods.

Anyone can find good articles on their city; hell, even in Detroit you could. Sorry, but Indy has nothing on Cincinnati. From economic diversity, to "real" city neighborhoods, architecture, density, cultural institutions, colleges, and topography. Stop ruining threads.

Now go troll somewhere else. We don't want you in the Cincy forum.
