You're kidding right? It's one giant strip mall with one livable apartment complex downtown, with units starting at 240 grand.

Really?

If that's not normal then maybe it's American cities as a whole that are strange to me... At home downtown in any city is the obvious place to go for bookstores, including large ones such as Borders.

Oh well.

Yeah, there's not much to Lexington. Cincy is Paris compared to Lexington.

It's just that when you're downtown by yourself and want something quick to eat
For a quick bite to eat downtown, dash into just about any one of the larger office buildings, and find yourself a deli, sandwich shop, whatever you want to call it. Good stuff. Fast food sucks.

Lexington is a great town, get over it. There's lots of condo's downtown. Anyway, this is the Cincinnati forum, so I'll shut up.

bryce, just wondering.. how did you like Orlando? It definitely has more shopping, looks nicer, etc.. but that city is FAR more dangerous than Cincy. It's literally one big hood. Just wonder if the looks weigh a lot on how you feel about an area.

Exclamation Okay...Sat This One Out Long Enough

One thing that gets me torqued REALLY quick is when people come to this area, and let loose with a barrage of smug, smart-a** putdowns, like their smugness is supposed to make them superior in some way...

Bryce, no offense, sir, but as the saying goes, you sorta started it...this is a great area to live in and raise a family, and yes, we Midwesterners DO get a bit touchy when people who haven't been here for a long period of time start waxing philosophic and at length about what's wrong with the place...

Snotty remarks about architecture, poor sidewalk maintenance, and lack of eating/bookstore options? All those can be easily solved, if you heed the advice of other posters here and actually (gasp!!) EXPLORE other areas in the city proper, and even some of the suburbs...as the saying goes, those that complain about nothing to do, or 'this sucks!', probably haven't really stopped whining long enough to get up off their lard a**es and make an effort to see what's what...

Cincinnati has a LOT to offer those who are willing to come here with an open mind and a positive attitude, and actually explore the environs...I'm not gonna take the tack of telling you (Bryce) to 'go back to Auckland', because that defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to say...give us a chance, have an open mind, and do a little research...you might grow to like what you see

Now...to address others here, and you know who you are (not you Wilson or HartwellGirl LOL), who seem to think that their smarmy putdowns and supposedly smart remarks will magically increase the size of their cojones and up their testosterone levels---nobody here give's a flying fiddler's ****
about corned beef, canceled vacation plans, or whether or not someone is a 'hillbilly hick' and whether someone should insert one's head up one's 'hillbilly hick posterior'...you don't get to make that call...and what's more, I'm going to go a step further---if you don't like the city, or its' inhabitants, or the inhabitants of this particular forum, and you can't add anything positive to the conversation at hand, then basically, put a sock in it and move on, preferably to someplace where someone actually gives a frozen fart ...nobody is remotely impressed by flexing behind a PC and questioning other posters' manhood...go somewhere and try to shake down some kid for his lunch money, and let adult conversation continue
