If someone asks you where you went to school they mean what (catholic) high school, not where you went to college. It's a big deal to some people.

If you went to Elder you can be buried in one of these when you die.

That's quite something. I'm not sure how to process this is real life.

If no one asked it is because they can sense that you're not from around these here parts.

Or perhaps they conclude you never went to HS. Just kidding. Chemistry_Guy probably has the real reason, they can sense you are not from around here. Further it is overblown and much more a central/west side of town thing than when you get out into the more distant suburbs. Dates back to when the Catholic HS dominated life on the west side of town.

LMAO @ "purple package".

Yes, many people asked me where I went to school; when I said UD, they looked at me like I had cauliflower coming out of my ears.

Not sure if they were the same people that asked 'You're not from around here, are you?'

Perhaps the reason why no one's asked the OP where he's went to high school is because he's not in some "two story town" where the first objective of the locals is to determine how much of an outsider you are, and how they should treat you. Most of these "two story" town types don't like change as it interferes with their criminal activity (or an outsider introducing change) and live their lives based on the success of the local high school team. It's quite sad actually. My guess is that the OP was referring to "here" as the Cincinnati area, rather than the message board itself, and that perhaps he once lived in these small college or HS towns and is relieved to not have to deal with such matters. Fortunately, a majority of the posters on this board don't have this "two story/wish I lived in a single story town actually" mentality.

Yeah, it's a Cincinnati thing, kinda like eastside vs. westside.
