Yeah and if Tyler had 6 million people, it would also be Houston. Point is, can you find many similarities with Baton Rouge with Houston. Yes. Are there more similarities concerning Houston with the state that it actually resides in, yes. Also, as the years go, Houston starts to look less and less like any city as it urbanizes and forms its own unique urban environment. There is nothing like a Rice Military in Baton Rouge.

What makes you think I was responding to just you post? I was also responding to Texyn post. Houston is in Texas. Houston is Texas. If you want Louisiana, move to Lake Charles.

I've always thought this. The I-10 corridor from New Orleans to Houston has the same or similar feel, appearance, and culture; you can even add Mobile and MS Gulf Coast to the mix. I've always felt that Houston was more Louisiana like than Texas.
Houston is more like Texas.

Which is why Houston is the 4th largest.

However the Population Density is low compared to cities that are truly "urban" like Baltimore.

Take a circle and draw a 15 mile radious around a densly city like Baltimore and Houston wouldn't be 4th. Due to Baltimore having a high Population Density.

PS. I used to stay in Southern Maryland such as Prince Georges County. Along with having relatives there . I once in a while went to Baltimore
Your first sentence just voided everything you said.

I actually been to Houston before once.

Not saying is not big but just spread out where you need a vehicle.

While in new orleans everything is close by. I can walk from Uptown New Orleans to the New Orleans East on the same day

If I go to store in Houston i need a vehicle . if I go to a store new orleans I just walk

The thing is I never said Houston wasn't in Texas or that Houstonians look at themselves and Louisianans. TO ME, TO ME, TO ME, I said Houston feels more Louisiana like than Texas.

annie, I agree with you that BR would be Houston, if it was 6 million people.

Half or almost of the people in Houston has families from Louisiana or Mississippi. East Mississippi.

LOL. It's crazy. I rarely meet a black native Houstonian whose family is exclusively from Texas; they're mostly from Louisiana. However, those are the people with whom I interact.
