Revived for the NBA Finals!

GO DALLAS! Sure, you swept my Lakers (as a Laker fan, I was ashamed at Odom's and Bynum's ejections and they really deserved to lose) but nothing would make the beginning of my summer better than seeing the Miami Heat lose!

This is the 2nd time I've cheered for a Texas team during the finals in the past year (the Rangers dissapointed me but good job making it to the WS nonetheless ) but this time, it's different.

Game 6 is tomorrow. I'm sure almost every NBA outside of South Florida is cheering for you guys!

GO MAVS! Make some history!

My point is Dallas doesn't lack in entertaining things to do when compared to most big cities, it is right up there pumpin its fist as well. Dallas' gay entertainment is definitely superior to anything in Florida.
This is a really old post but I thought I'd toss in that Miami also has White Party Week in November and Winter Party Week in March. There's also Aqua Girl in May and a gay film festival in April. A pride weekend has now been added to the mix in the last few years but it's not as if there wasn't something already happening throughout the years for quite some time now.

I don't know how I let this thread slide by. There has been so much misinformation spewed in this thread that I can counter for days.

The odds are on the Heats side. Less teams have been able to close-out on the road in a 2-3-2 format(Including the Celtics not being able to finish off the Lakers last year). And then when you consider how most of the games went, they've all been very close 1 or 2 possession games, it's not like either team had a series changing, insurmountable blow-out win. Both teams actually know what to do going into the next game after a loss.

Well, this year's Miami Heat AREN'T last year's Lakers. I think a lot of Heat fans (no offense ) have a hard time understanding that. The winner of game five TYPICALLY has a 73% chance of winning the series, so its not like the favor is stacked that deeply in favor for the Miami Heat. Remember what happened in 2006? The Heat won the away game in Dallas to clinch the series.

There is a lot more pressure on LeBron and the rest of the Heat to step up their 4th quarter game. Now that the pressure valve is higher than ever, I don't even know if they could perform.

Despite my almost irrational dislike for the Heat, I gotta hand it to the team for basically coming together this year and forever changing the NBA world. Whether or not they win, they're going to have an impact on the basketball world for a long time.

Also much credit to the Dallas Mavericks, who are arguably one of the best all around TEAMS to play in a long time. The Heat are dependent on the big 3, while the Mavericks have all around good team play. Sure, there is somewhat of a reliance on Dirk, but lately it's been the other players coming up to the plate and making big plays. I enjoy watching that type of play, instead of a 1 man show (IE: the Lakers as of late). Basketball is a team sport, not an ego contest....

Dallas shot out of there mind in the last game, and still only won by 9. Can they replicate what they did in Game 6 on the road? Despite what happened in Game 2, we do play better at home. And if the pressure is on LeBron, I believe Dwade will take over. No one knows what to expect from a Dallas team that has a cushion and a Heat team with nothing to lose. It's just been too close of a tit for tat series to expect Dallas to close out Miami in 6. I mean, Dallas COULD, but it'll be the hardest game of there life.

Dallas shot poorly the first four games for the most part, but still managed to pull off wins. Game 4 should have never been in doubt if the Mavericks hit their open looks. So to me, its just a law of averages and the Mavericks were bound to hit their shots sometime during the series. Will the Mavericks replicate their high shooting percentage in Game 6, probably not, but who knows. Remember Miami shot pretty well too in Game 5 with a lot help from the bench, I don't think this can be replicated too. So I think game 6 will be more reflective of games 2-4, with the key being if the Heat can play 12 full minutes in the 4th quarter.

Some stats to remember. Dallas have a 2-1 record at Miami during the regular and post-season. Dallas won at Miami during the regular season when the Heat had a winning stretch of 21-1 record with the one lost caused by the Mavericks themselves. I read that in Dirk's career, he is 12-7 on closing out series, including 6 straight closeout wins, which tells me he is quite focused on not letting series slip away with the exception of the 06 Finals (Mavs were only up 2-0, and never won a 3rd game). Finally, if this is forced into another game tonight, Dirk is 5-0 in game 7.

I really hope the Mavs win, I've been a Dirk fan for 10 years, he really deserves a ring at this point, while James and Wade will multiple times in the future.

Btw, to answer the topic question, Miami-Dade County for me.
