^ The south is technically part of the East Coast. I know this thread is mostly California vs. NY/NJ, but the East Coast includes Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. You could even throw in some other states like West Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi if you want. Maybe even Louisiana. Hense the terms "southEAST" and "northEAST".
