OK, not sure I get that one, lol. But it's the one that you're more than likely the most familiar with.

Maybe it's because I go to an HBCU! lol
Well I did come back and amend that statement, so don't feel TOO bad, LOL.

Well, the stones comment was in reference to another HBCU in NC. I'll say that without giving away the name. But I think I know what you're saying. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's sad sad commentary for that school.

Over 21,000 black households make over $200,000 in the DC metro. Only 7,000 households make over $200,000 in Atlanta. Furthermore, only a little over 25,000 people make over $200,000 in the NYC metro even though it has 20 million people 4 times the DC metro area.

Washington, D.C. is the capital of all America.

Someone asked several posts back: What is the capital of "White America"? Seattle? Boston? Boise? Phenix City?

And here's a perfectly good answer someone also gave several posts back:

That post says the Latino Capital of America is Miami. I know plenty of Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and Mexicans who would disagree with that.

Washington is OUR capital.

So you picked one little statement that didn't even have direct relevance to the actual title of the thread instead of dealing with the substantive reasons that were given? Oh yeah, that's the way to reason.

I guess some people can't see that "capital" here simply means the epicenter of cultural power and influence for a particular ethnic/racial group.

That would even exclude D.C. which makes sense. D.C. is almost too new of a city to meet this criteria as a "capital" and is only a "capital" by name.

I disagree. There's more than enough African American history in DC for it to qualify as a contender here.

Hands down. The city that represents Blacks in America the best is Detriot. All other cities got their blue print from Motown. Even what Detriot is today, it best represents black america to the fullest. It gets no blacker than Detriot. The only other city that shows the true face of black people in this country would probably be New Orleans, but they are a fair second.
