In this case, two wrongs seem to be making a right.

The relentless LA and Chicago bashers are canceling each other out.

LA will never be Detroit because of its locale among the mountains, beach, and its perfect climate. Its always going to be a desirable place to live.

I wish it would be the next Detroit. Property values would plummet and I could afford a house there. I would move back very quickly.

Yes L.A is the new Detroit, with 12% unemployment rate and poor uneducated immigrants swarming into port of L.A in loads it will resemble Tijuana more than Detroit [even worse]
L.A economy top 10 worst in US America's top 10 worst job market cities (2) - Unemployment | Job News Post
L.A unemployment rate ranked 324 best out of 375 metros with 12% unemployment Unemployment Rates for Metropolitan Areas
slo1364 and Ohio248 [father and son] will deny the death of L.A's economy but they are just being homers

With that trend, the sunbelt could become the new rustbelt by mid-century possibly sooner with the rate of change in this day and age.

I'd have to say this exchange of which is worse LA or Chicago. The rivalry between these two is amazing. Interesting tho, the bashers don't live in either city.
