In my view, there are some posters on this thread who are analogous to that old guy on the corner. How would I describe them? They are the folks who have exhibited one or more of the following behaviors:
• Jumping into a thread at the end without understanding the premise
• Making claims about a city they've never visited
• Ignoring posts with facts that counter their arguments
• Issuing challenges and then ignoring the responses
• Taking information out of context and posting it in a way that supports their position
• Making posts that are simply unintelligible
• Posting pictures of food(?)
• When all else fails, calling individuals names and other epithets

Just as I ignore the crazy dude on the corner, I find no sense in addressing any posts that fall into any of the above categories. Really, all it does is provide another opportunity for them to continue their crazy talk. If folks like that are left alone, they just take walk down the street to do their crazy somewhere else.

And just like the guy on the corner who wakes up tomorrow to find the world didn't end after all, I predict the folks on this thread will wake up tomorrow, look at the poll, and see what we already know – most people agree that our downtown is heads and tails above DC’s.

Keep watching the poll.

Well I will plead my ignorance. I just want to figure what a Bama is? I know we have a president named O bama and a state Al bama but I cant figure out what a bama is...

I think many of us are long since "campus" one day you will come to us seeking employment...

Yes a city with tradition, character, culture and actual interest and interesting things - but do enjoy a fudruckers burger in Chinatown every now and again, helluva fixins bar

No offense to the DC posters but I feel like you guys are coming from a purely subculture African American view which is very different from the views of the vast majority of people. Black Philly is not well off compared to black DC, so I can see why you guys have the opinions that you do. They just aren't representative of the cities when taken as a whole.

I neutral in this thing but here you go: Bamma (Urban Dictionary).

LOL Kid, your name's deceiving. Gotta start calling you OldmanPhilly or MidlifePhilly or MetamucilPhilly.

I'm just giving you a hard time Kid, don't take it the wrong way. Baseball season's going to start up soon and a couple of friends are already talking trash.

We aren't talking about the country old navy looking North Faces Sorority Girls wear or the hunting trip North Faces frat boys wear. We are talking about Sleep Tek Urban North Faces DC style that are only sold in city stores. They don't sell these in most cities.
