False. In the fall, the west can't hold a candle in the fall colors in the NE. Also, the spring is beautiful because the East has many more decidious trees. I've been east and west. I love both areas but I don't get why so many people from the west are so shallow in the ideas of beauty. It's almost like some are too insecure to admit the east is pretty. Sure the mountains aren't as tall but I don't think that's less beautiful. The eastern united states is amazing.
Don't make it personal. I'm not shallow or insecure. I agree, the eastern US is amazing- I love it, visit family there often and have no problem with it. I'd live in many places in the east! Probably one thing that makes me say the west is prettier is just the sheer magnitude of the space...in many areas you can go for hundreds of miles and see nothing but gorgeous, diverse nature- no people. It feels more wilderness-y, and therefore, IMO more beautiful.

My apologies for making it personal. Not my intent. I agree that the west is more beautiful. I just think to say nothing in the east can compare to the west, isn't true. Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York and North Carolina have parts that are as beautiful as anywhere. In general the east lacks the diversity of the west. From Georgia to ME, many areas are beautiful but very similar looking. That's why the west wins, IMO. I just think it gets overlooked.
We can live anywhere in the US - We work from home -- Where should we choose? We want to live in a beautiful state with decent schools. We have two sons ages 16 (Straight A's and Varsity Runner) and age 8.
We live in an absolutely beautiful state, Wisconsin but too cold.
So where would you all move?
Pennsylvania. Chadds Ford, specifcally. IMO Chadds Ford is one the few places where you feel like your in the country, meanwhile your minutes away from major highways, cities, and shopping. Chadd-Ford/Unionville School District is an excellent school district as well. Also, Easttown Treddyffrin School District, and Great Valley, offer rolling hill scenary throughout malvern, and such, meanwhile they are some of the best districts in the state. I Dont Know how rural you want, or what you like for scenary, but these areas are great.

And mine for the too-strong comparison language
Anyone reasonable can agree that both have tremendous beauty in many areas.
Everyone on this forum just google "southern Utah" and you will see what the prettiest state in the country is. The national parks down there are some of the most amazing things you will ever see.
