So I did some looking and found that in 2009, NOLAs violent crime rate was 777 per 100,000 which strikes me as odd considering its murder rate.
Historically it's always been that way in New Orleans, robbery and agg. assault rate have been middle of the pack, while the murder rate has been top ten.
Now I can see why someone would want to live in Detroit or St Louis, screwed up as those places may be. But is it really worth the risk to live in Little Rock, Stockton, or Springfield, Il? Seems like an out of balance risk/reward factor to me.
Wow, Lansing is a surprise to me. I lived in Lansing back in 2006, and graduated high school near there in the 90's, I have never felt unsafe in Lansing.
Elizabeth is on there , but Newark isn't , Elizabeth has less crime then Newark....this list smells fishy...
