Declining white population in city and metro…

And very few white families.

I get it from the outside looking in- if you never like been through the neighborhoods and the schools… but it misses on a lot of metrics other cities check.

When you remove the 18-29 year old population Boston drops to only 39% white. Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site

You could actually expand Bostons borders to include over 1M people and it would still be under 50% white.

For example, I would say that Harlem (N.Y.) is much more culturally significant to black people than, say, West Philadelphia, despite the fact that Harlem contains fewer black people, both in absolute terms and as a percentage of the whole.

For white people, I think of country music, a genre that is stereotypically produced by, and listened to, mostly by white people, far more so than by other demographics. So, by this metric, I would say that Nashville is the capital of white America.
Nope, defintely not the case, lol! I get the country music stereotype and where you are headed with this, but live here and you will know better... There is a major difference in the Lower Broadway Country music tourist trap and the real Nashville city living. I get the thought process though.. I can see more Seattle or Portland. Maybe even Denver!

Boston’s metro (66%) is whiter than Seattle’s (58%) though but Portland’s is whiter than both (69%).

Boston’s MSA is also the second whitest metro out of the top 20 metro areas. Only the Twin Cities has a higher white percentage.

Portland is very white. I don’t think people associate it with Asians…in fact. That is the last minority I’ve seen associated with Portland.

But of the largest 20 metropolitan areas, Boston had the second fastest declining % in White non-Hispanics. boston MSA was 74% White in 2010 and now its 66% (2020)
