Once again in my first post that you responded to, you're one of those people thats like "CHICAGO IS BETTER THAN PHILADELPHIA!" without even knowing what the ghetto areas are like. This was from August 18th Btw, just incase you're going to make another excuse of how Philadelphia is more "dangerous" than Chicago.

Edit: Something else, Philadelphia had 177 murders in 2013, Btw. Compared to 415 Murders in Chicago in 2013. Do the murder rate of that and you'll see its safer also, compare any time of the year with Chicago's, Chicago will probably have five or ten or (more-) times more shootings in a week.
See Vlajos's post.

THIS is a valid argument. And you're right, in 2012, the Black murder rate for Chicago was higher than Philadelphia's.

Is black segregation in Prince George's County a bad thing? The blacks moving in have other, less segregated options, so if that's what they choose should we judge?

Prince George

Segregated, black and poor is usually not good. But is segregation in itself bad?

"Separate but equal"--racial segregation has never been implemented fairly and likely never will be. I feel as if this discussion is for another forum, but yes, segregation is bad, from physical to sociological to economic reasons.

Because the history of how it has been sustained. But as Nei pointed out-it's not always bad.

No, segregation is always bad. For starters:

Default boredatwork

Both Chicago and Philly have their issues but Philly I think does a better job of portraying its soulful-ness. Chicago on the other spends all day letting these new young dudes represent them which isn't saying nothin. Plus the gang culture in Chicago is very counter-productive and almost sets yall back decades with that mindset.

People often CHOOSE to segregate themselves. You can't force people to intermingle and mix if they don't want to. Usually it falls more along the lines of income and cultural similarities. In most suburbs whites are still the dominant demographic, as is higher income, and the blacks that do live in the suburbs have more in common with their white neighbors than they do inner city blacks.

Race is a divider, but I think cultural aspects and income is the bigger divider, and people make those choices.
