There's things you can do in Dallas that you can't do in Seattle as well.

Like what? Seriously, I lived in both, and I can't think of one thing other than sweat more.

Easy...
1) BBQ outside in the winter
2) Ride a motorcycle almost all year round.
and most importantly...
3) Get a TAN

Ok when I lived in the Seattle area, I fired up my BBQ year round. I had a covered patio
I imagine you can ride a motorcycle year round, perhaps a bit more dangerous in the rain, but if you observe common sense, I don't see why this is not possible.
As far as getting a Tan...Ok there is more sun (which I detest) in Texas. You can get a tan 362 days a year in a salon as long as you take Xmas off and TG.

A list of what you can do in Seattle vs Dallas is got to be miles long. By the way, I live in near Phoenix AZ so I have no bias.

Not to mention more upscale shopping. More college football games are played in Dallas from Teams all over the country. Dallas has a better classic car culture scene as well.

Even though Houston started the caddilac slab culture. It caddilac slabs in Dallas as well. That's something you definitely won't see in Seattle. I'm not gonna lie those old school candy painted slabs are clean as a whistle.

Ok, you've got to come up with more to do in Dallas than this that tops what Seattle offers. I think that the outdoor activities/parks in Seattle are bigger and better (which are mostly free of charge vs theme parks), but I suppose that's not an "apples to apples" comparison...you can also drive to Canada in 2.5 hours or cruise the San Juan Islands in 1.5 hours. 2.5 hours outside of Dallas doesn't put you anywhere interesting that I'm aware of.

Yes, true. +5 points.

Look, Dallas is a decent place to be, but I think that its primary attraction is the diverse business climate, jobs, and people who would like a nice home for a lower price than other large metro's. Its getting more and more congested every year and I don't dig the weather for most of the year. Even with Seattle's weather conditions, I think its a much nicer area, but maybe because I enjoy the scenery.

Sure, there's some cool stuff in Dallas, but nothing that has that "w0w" factor. This is the first time i've lived in a large metro where "upscale shopping" and "eating out" are considered primary activities that top the list of things to do. Don't get me wrong, I give Dallas credit for its positives, but it just seems so much of a "generic" city.

Just my observations.
