What do you mean? How does including BRT systems favor D.C.? The whole world build's Gold Standard BRT Systems and only American cities have issues meeting this level of service. As someone whose worked in transportation for 30 years, I applaud D.C. for its progressiveness (for an American City atleast) to take lanes from cars making a truly world renowned BRT system.
The rest of the cities in America could learn a lot from D.C. when it comes to transit. Promoting the car isn't sustainable and the love affair with it has to end in this country for us to survive as a nation. D.C. is on the leading edge of 21st century TOD and rapid mass transit in America.

I never said this was about rail transit. I asked about rapid transit plans. The only thing I did say was only include Gold Standard BRT systems which are on par with rail transit. Otherwise, it's just a bus and everybody has them.

I noticed that too. Its like me as an Angeleno doing a thread that asks "Lets rank cities on the following criteria: beaches, mountains, film shoots, tacos, and mid-century modern architecture."
Is the Orange Line in L.A. considered "gold standard" BRT? It's pretty train-like....
The standard is based on a scoring system. Cleveland is the highest scoring system in America and even it's only bronze level. Here is the scoring document:

Well for one, people make those types of threads all the time about L.A. and Denver makes threads about outdoor features all the time too. San Fran asks about Asian everything. ATL asks about black everything. I could go on and on.
Second, how is the standard the WORLD uses for transit favoring D.C. Maybe what you should have said is this:
"That's like someone from NYC asking people to rank the top 20 most urban cities in America?"
Just because NYC is number one doesn't mean people from NYC can't be interested in what is happening in other cities from an urban perspective. Now, I know D.C. does transit better than every city in America except NYC, however, that doesn't mean we can't make threads talking about transit across the nation. This thread is for the whole country.
