Pittsburgh has some of the worst weather in the country. Overcast most of the time. Hot and very muggy with a major mosquito problem, very cold and snowy long winters. Chilly often rainy and short spring and falls. The weather certainly isn't the reason people move to Pittsburgh. It's probably the reason some move out.
You realize that you described a very large chunk of the Eastern US, right?
Not to mention, with climate change occurring pretty rapidly, I don't see a particularly good trajectory for cities in the South (and especially in Texas). I'll place my long-term weather bets on Pittsburgh.

It kills me when people say this. You don't know what the future holds. Many say the North could have colder snowier winters in the future. I'm not sure, I'm not a scientist and I'm guessing you aren't either.
Hot? Pittsburgh averages a whopping 10 days per year with temperatures in the 90s. That's not hot.
Quite frankly, I'd take a Pittsburgh winter over an Austin summer. Extreme heat is dangerous; persistent cloud cover is not.
Focus on the humid part. Pittsburgh is often mugger than Austin despite being cooler. Coming from D.C I honestly though Pittsburgh Summers felt worse due to the stickiness and lack of air movement.

Yeah, not in the summer though. I was there in October and it was really nice. I spent a week in Pittsburgh in July and it was pretty rough. It felt worse than Atlanta and I've experienced their Summers.

You’re comparing anecdotes with data. The numbers are what they are. I live in Pittsburgh. I spent 3 years in central Texas, and I’ve experienced over a hundred summer and early-fall days, over the course of multiple years, in Austin. It’s ridiculouslu hot and humid. I’m sorry you spent one abnormally muggy week in PGH.

Pittsburgh has much more comfortable summer weather on average than DC, I can confidently say that, having lived for long periods in both, and still visiting often

Yeah the idea that Pittsburgh has more uncomfortable, hot, and humid summers than DC is downright laughable
