An argument for NYC's exclusion might make sense, but that's about it.
OK then. Do we really want a new poll/thread though?

Sure, why not? Then you can get your city in the poll and feel pretty good.

It's nonsense like this that leads many to erroneously believe that places like Oakland and Sacramento are more diverse than London!

Oakland's been a city of immigrants as long as its been around. Obviously it doesn't compare to somewhere like London but it's not Sacramento either.

He's just jealous that actual statistics prove what we say.

Oakland is more racially diverse than London, which is roughly 45% White British.

The Bay Area really is at the forefront of not only racial and ethnic diversity but I really dont know of anywhere that is as integrated over such a wide area. Also, socio economically, minorities here are quite affluent compared to anywhere Ive ever been, including London and New York.

And its not just the central Bay Area. The 3 most diverse metro areas in the US are
1 Vallejo
2 San Francisco
3 Stockton

All 3 border each other! Thats not by coincidence.

Agree that Oakland is very diverse and racially-balanced- more than half of the other cities in the poll. It is more racially-mixed than San Francisco to enlighten the OP.

It is not on the list yet Boston (not very multicultural), Miami (too Latino-focused) Vancouver (too Asian-focused) are there, and with votes too

The white % in both cities are much less than the percentages you have, Davy-040.

It is more racially-balanced but London certainly has more representation from all corners of the world than Oakland.

Sure, London has more groups.

But you are correct. Oakland's largest racial group accounts for only 28% of the total population.
