Be sure to include what city you are from and to include your pronunciation of each word.

I say them all the same. "Meh-ree". Chicago here.

I'm from Boston, and I pronounce them all differently.

Mary with the "air" sound in hairy or scary.

Marry with the "a" sound from Harry or happy.

Merry with the "e" sound from Jerry or meth.

People from the coastal Northeast (Philly, NYC, Boston areas) generally pronounce all three differently. People from everywhere else generally pronounce it all three the same or 1 differently than the other two.

So wait.

To all the people that pronounce it the same, would saying the sentence "I want to marry merry Mary" entail saying the same thing three times in a row?

"I want to Mary Mary Mary"...?
