I've seen data saying much of the cause of the crime increases recently is due to a spike in Heroin use and the corresponding drug deals. Hopefully this can be brought under control and not turn into another epidemic like the crack one of the 80's and 90's.

Could be. But I have a feeling that many of these homicides are a result of overemotional men who handle their business by way of gunplay instead of any other method that would keep other people and themselves alive. That's me though.

New Orleans murders declined slightly in 2014. But nonfatal shootings in New Orleans still rose 23% in 2014.
So the murder rates in Boston and New Orleans only dropped because criminals got worse at aiming. That's not exactly good news.

Anchorage had 16 murders through May 28. Its annual average is 14-15. An increase of over 100%.

Word is the crime increase nationwide is due to the use of new form of meth called s.u.p.e.r m.e.t.h.

They are suppose to be targeting the inner cities with this new drug. Its cheaper and you get twice as high than using regular meth

s.u.p.e.r m.e.t.h. = I spelled it this way because I hate that everything I type on here is on google

Odd considering Anchorage isn't a city that would an increase in murders rate because of a significant black population. So maybe it isn't all because of the recent uproar with police and minorities like Fox News or conservative pundits would like us to believe.

I call total B.S. on this....Do you have anything to back this claim up? Do you mean Ice(which has been on the streets for nearly 20 years)? Or are you referring to the newest 'bath salt' chemical called "Flacka"?
