Are you implying that all 6+ million residents that live in Miami metro are on some kind of permanent vacation without jobs/professions and are simply there because the beach is pretty?
Ironically, that would be only a slight exaggeration!
How is Miami not a world class city, but Houston and Atlanta are? I'm guessing your viewpoint has everything to do with Miami's chief industry being tourism.
Look at Miami's GDP compared to Houston and Atlanta
I have traveled to Miami from London several times and as much as I agree that it is a world class holiday destination, it is not a place where I desire to move to. Outside South Beach and a few other areas, Miami resembles a 3rd world city.
Outside South Beach and "A few other areas". As in???? Name neighborhoods.

If we are going by the CITY of Miami only then we must exclude Miami Beach as that is it's own city and not part of the city of Miami. That would leave the city of Miami with next to nothing and that would be very unfair .
But for the purpose of this exercise let's include the Metro as well as the city of Miami only has 350K residents. From an outsider's perspective I still think Atlanta's economy is stronger than Miami's overall
I'm talking about the city not the metro area. You know what world class city means right? Let me emphasize the word CITY for you. It's called world class city not world class metro. Also most of those people are Hispanic immigrants from struggling countries such as Cuba and the rest are retirees.
There's more than enough wealthy Europeans and South Americans with permanent homes in Miami. How would you define world class? Is it just having a particular GDP? Having a particular chief industry? Is it having certain racial demographics? Miami's just Cubans? Really?

Same question I asked Delusion. How would you define world class? Is it just having a particular GDP? Having a particular chief industry? Is it having certain racial demographics

Lmao I said "such as Cuba" which clearly refers to an example. Read correctly next time and there are many factors that make a city world class and Miami just doesn't fit that criteria to me. I could list them if you want me to.
