It's not about looking it up. We are not talking about Djibouti here. A supreme Court justice fats and it reverberates around the globe. Whether we are looking it up or not it finds us.

You think anyone really cares or pays attention to it?

You'd be surprised.

Too bad those monuments don't bring up your tourist numbers. Seems like no one cares. I doubt anyone outside of the USA knows about the

Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. And I'm sure they confuse the white house with the capitol building all the time.

Growing up we were bombarded with images of the Capitol mall, Jefferson monument is in a zillion cartons, we heard a lot about the Smithsonian museums, the national gallery of art, the Washington monument, the various war memorials, the white house, the Capitol, pics of the rows of cherry blossoms, images of the library of congress, the supreme court building, union station, Reagan and Dulles airports.

I mean it was a lot. We heard talk about Miami, but we we sledgehammered over the head about DC. No way around it. DC is almost as well known internationally as just about any well known city. I would rank it 4th in recognition after London, NY, and Paris. Yes ahead of Tokyo.

...... You've got to be kidding me? You have said the most bogus stuff tonight. The monuments don't bring the tourist numbers?! The monuments are the reason we get a bunch of tourist. The monuments and museums and the zoo is where the tourist go?! What do you think bring the tourist numbers? anacostia? Oh hey guys lets go to southeast and go to a go go function...

And yep you're wrong again because the monuments are some of the most recognizable buildings in the country and the world. Nice try but you failed again. Stop reaching, it's desperate.

I would say they are about even when it comes to being widely known and/or famous around the world.
Also your argument could also be used against Miami I'd argue!
How known/famous would Miami be without Miami Beach?

When it comes to places that attract people from all over the world to come visit or migrate to, then I would agree Miami is more popular than DC.

I already said Miami gets more tourist than DC? What exactly are you trying to argue here? You failed take another lap or just give up. We were talking about which place is more internationally known.... Not which place get more visitors. Switched the topic so quick huh? lol yikes goodnight.
