Oh lighten up. It really does smell that way though.
Uggh - easy for you to say you knew you were going to say it - the rest of us didn't and not expecting some rather unpleasant visuals here lol.. I feel marred for life. How can I ever walk through Chinatown in NYC again - ever.
Oakland is not a suburb of SF it's a pretty urban place, essentially a part of the Bay Area's urban heart along with SF. At the same time, it is funny that we're considering Oakland Chinatown as clearly distinct just because it's politically in a different city while we aren't discussing the Clement St. and Sunset Chinatowns just because they're also within SF (not to mention the other Chinese neighborhoods within Toronto and New York). Just goes to show how much our thinking is influenced by arbitrary political boundaries.
How does Oakland stack up to, say, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Chinatown-wise? If they really are on the same page as NYC, SF, LA/SGV, Toronto and Vancouver...
