Very hard choice--but I'm going to have to go with Cambridge because it's more urban, even though I like DC as a whole more than Boston as a whole.
Pasadena, CA vs Palo Alto, CA
I'd go with Pasadena. I love San Francisco but Palo Alto's just too far away from the city and it takes too long to get there. Pasadena on the other hand is closer to the action of LA. I also am envious of the weather that I'd have in LA.

Couer D'Alene, ID or Toledo, OH
Couer D'Alene ID. While I am very much a Midwest homer, Toledo has nothing to offer in my eyes besides being close to Detroit.
Never been to either, but Alamagordo seems to have nicer scenery NM is a blue state.
