Ruidoso, NM

Both are scenic areas. Ruidoso is larger with a little more to do. Would be challenging enough to adapt to Ruidoso's 7,000 ft. elevation, but Cloudcroft at nearly 9,000 ft. even more so.

Colorado Springs, CO or Flagstaff, AZ ?

Probably Flagstaff. Gateway to the Grand Canyon, physically beautiful, nice university town. Colorado Springs seems very conservative.

Norman for me. I prefer the drier weather and college town appeal while still being within a large MSA.
