Dang, just missed the Hillsboro one (where I live currently). Anyways...

I think I'd have to go Ft. Smith. Neither really appeal to me, but it seems Ft. Smith is closer to some other recognizable cities whereas Amarillo seems super isolated.

Topeka, KS or Sioux Falls, SD?

Sioux Falls although more isolated is safer and better economy. Toledo OH or Akron OH?

Toledo... Akron seems a little less rundown but I don't like how it sits in Cleveland's shadow (from an identity standpoint). Toledo seems to have more culture and I like its proximity to Michigan.

Santa Rosa, CA or Santa Maria, CA?

Santa Rosa. It has a wetter climate - more trees.

Sandwich, Massachusetts or Rye, New York?

Sandwich. I lived not too far from there at one time and am more familiar with it.

Roanoke, VA metro or Utica/Rome, NY metro ?

Roanoke. More my style and like it's location. Jackson TN or Ocala FL?

Ocala. I'm not crazy about either city individually. But I would rather be close to Orlando than Memphis.

Sacramento, CA or Charlotte, NC?

Sacramento. Not a California person, but it’s close to family, closer to interesting national park sites, and the weather is infinitely better.

El Paso, Texas or Little Rock, Arkansas?

Little Rock. Better than most people give them credit.

Albuquerque, NM or Louisville, KY?

I'm going for Louisville. Albuquerque has a beautiful airport, but that's about all I know about it. A woman I sew with used to live there and she says it's very high crime. Louisville has crime too, of course.

Seattle v Milwaukee
