Milwaukee. Underrated, and it sits right on Lake Michigan as Chicago down the road does.
Topeka, Kan., or Harrisburg, Pa.?
Harrisburg. I really like the Harrisburg/Lancaster/Hershey/Gettysburg area a lot. Great state capital, good history, low cost of living, and not far from Philly.
Amelia Island because it's closer to a big city (Jacksonville) and I find Fernandina Beach to be interesting
Atlantic City, NJ or Myrtle Beach, SC
Myrtle Beach. I really wouldn't want to live in either. But I like MB's location in SC better (as opposed to NJ) and it comes across as more appealing to a broader range of people (myself included) than AC.
Myrtle Beach because Atlantic City closed its casinos
Denver vs Charleston SC
Tough choice. Climate-wise I would choose Denver but South Carolina appeals to me more for other reasons, so Charleston.

Boston, MA or Portland, OR?
Boston. I don't want to live in either state but I have better thoughts about Massachusetts.
Mesquite, TX or Amarillo, TX?
