Lawrence, KS or Norman, OK?
Lawrence. I'd rather be close to Kansas City.

Bellingham, WA or Vancouver, WA?

Both seem like nice places but I'll go with Vancouver, WA since it's half an hour from Portland whereas Bellingham is a hour & a half from Seattle & Vancouver, BC.

Let's go with the 2 Southeast places that I've been to this year:

Fort Lauderdale, FL or Charleston, SC?

Interesting question. I don't love either one but being in the Portland MSA is more appealing. If Bellingham were even closer to Vancouver, BC (national border notwithstanding) I could go the other way. Vancouver, BC being one of my preferred cities and also a hub for many of our family members, that would be somewhat attractive. But no, I'll stick with Vancouver, WA instead.

Greenville, SC vs Birmingham, AL

Oops I was too slow...I'll say Charleston. It is more appealing to me for what it is. I could obviously be ok living in FTL though.

Definitely Greenville... Growing area with lots to do within and outside the city limits and is less entrenched within the deep south.

Rock Springs, WY or Elko, NV?

Hmmm, tough one. I'm going to go with Virginia Beach because I'm more familiar with the area but honestly either one sounds nice.

El Paso, TX or Hialeah, FL?

I can think of times when the Florida city would be mighty appealing, but those times aren't in the summer. You can always cool off in the mountains. And in El Paso, you don't have to go to the mountains, because the mountains come to you.

Jersey Shore, Pa., or California, Pa.?
