El Paso, TX or Hialeah, FL?
Hialeah. It's very close to my sister and her family. Plus I could live on a boat.

Tuscaloosa, AL or Baton Rouge, LA?

Jersey Shore, Pa., or California, Pa.?
It seems we were typing at the same time.

I guess I'd rather be closer to Pittsburgh in California, PA.

Tuscaloosa, because I like the line from Groucho Marx's Animal Crackers:

"One morning, I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know. Then we tried to remove the tusks. The tusks. That's not so easy to say, tusks. You try that some time...As I say, we tried to remove the tusks, but they were embedded in so firmly that we couldn't budge them. Of course, in Alabama, the Tusk-a-loosa."

Winston-Salem, NC or Huntsville, AL?

Winston-Salem, NC

Prefer North Carolina to Alabama. It is a larger metro area. Much closer to desirable mid-Atlantic destinations (Washington DC, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Annapolis, MD). It is close to some other major NC cities: just 80 miles to Charlotte; 100 miles to Raleigh; 145 miles to Asheville.

Rocklin, CA or Rockville, MD?

Rockville, as it is a bit more urbane than its opponent. I like the Maryland suburbs of DC.

Williamsburg, VA or St. Augustine, FL?

Williamsburg because I'm very familiar with it and have family there, also for the reasons I prefer VA Beach over Jacksonville. But I could live in both.

Fairbanks, AK or Juneau, AK?

Murfreesboro, TN

It is larger than Muncie (130k vs 70k). It is closer to Nashville (35 miles) than Muncie is to Indianapolis (65 miles). So it is a little closer to major employers and entertainment. The city has also done a good job preserving its history. Cannonsburgh Village has buildings and exhibits from the 1830's to the 1930's.

Gilroy, CA or Watsonville, CA?

Gilroy, CA

It is a nice-sized community and has a great climate!

Moberly, MO or Independence, MO

Independence, MO. Not far from Kansas City, I like the city size, & I like the city name better.

Minneapolis, MN or Seattle, WA?
