Athens because they don't support white supremacy protests.

Lincoln, NE or Wichita, KS?

Lincoln. College town in a way Wichita isn't.

But: Charlottesville didn't support the supremacist protest; the supremacists chose it, and the city fathers couldn't tell them not to rally since it wasn't on public property. (And had the city denied the supremacists a permit, the ACLU would have sued it.) The next day's march on public property was an anti-racist protest that a supremacist disrupted with an attack.

Albany, N.Y., or Hartford, Ct.?

Cupertino, CA

A good friend used to live in Cupertino. It keeps me much closer to people I know in the San Jose area and Monterey County. Am very familiar with the area, having lived in nearby San Jose & Sunnyvale for nearly 30 years (1972 to 2001). Irvine is very large for a suburban city (260k+ population), larger than I prefer (am OK with that size for core cities, though) However, it would put me closer to the coast. COL is high in both cities.

Another northern CA vs southern CA choice:

Benicia, CA or Moorpark, CA?

Not knowing anything about either town I'll go with Benicia just based off location.

Whitefish Bay, WI or Franklin Park, PA?

Whitefish Bay... Both are nice suburbs of noteworthy midwest metros and while I like the more temperate climate of Pittsburgh and its regional location, I prefer the urbanity of Whitefish Bay as a suburb, its location on a lake, and its proximity to downtown to Milwaukee.

Lafayette, IN or Champaign, IL?

Duluth. We considered moving there once and we would fit right in. Hubby already has a remote office in Duluth and our kids could play high caliber hockey. Plus a close family friend may be moving there soon who my kids consider an uncle. It's a nice little city that's surprisingly vibrant.

Lexington, KY or Greenville, SC?

Morro Bay. I know nothing about the city itself but SLO is a popular area and Cali vs MN for similar-sized populations? Not even close.

Minneapolis would be a much tougher choice.

Seattle vs DC

Ha, I am too slow again. I pick Greenville, it is bigger and growing at the same rate.

Seattle vs DC
