Miami. Larger metro, more things to do, no state tax, Latin American food, warmer winter's
Arlington, VA or Jersey City, NJ?
This one's a toughie. Arlington looks less "urban" than Jersey City, save for that stretch of midcentury high-rise apartment blocks near the Pentagon and along the Shirley Highway, but it seems to me to actually have a good deal more ethnic diversity, especially in its dining scene.
Can I propose moving Journal Square to Arlington and living there?
I'd also like to backtrack to a pair I'd meant to respond to: Wilmington, Del., vs. Providence, R.I.
Having worked for six months in Wilmington and visited it fairly often when I wasn't working there, I'd pick Providence.
Wilmington looks bigger than it is when you approach it from the south on I-95, and it does have its own colorful ethnic neighborhoods, but the city still goes to bed for the night around 6:30 p.m. Providence, at least, stays up later and is much further along the path to being an "18-hour city."

State College, Pa., or College Station, Tex.?
College Station, TX. Lower cost of living & an hour and a half from Houston. State College's location is a bit too isolated for my liking.
East Lansing Michigan i think cuz of lower state tax
Austin, Texas or New Orleans,La?
New Orleans to visit, Austin to live. New Orleans has great nightlife, & is unique with it's French/Creole food & culture, but I'm not the biggest fan of it overall as a city.
Austin is a decent up & coming city, & I like that it has a good tech scene. Overall Austin imo.

Charlotte, NC or Pittsburgh, PA?
Pittsburgh, for a number of reasons, inc the weather. Not a fan of sweating for 6 months..
Santa Fe. Sedona would get old quick, too small for me...but would be fun for a weekend.
Point Roberts, WA or Angle Inlet, MN?
