Not disagreeing but there are mountains just west of Roswell, NM

Capitan Mountains ....over 10,000 footers

Been there, I liked it, close to Vegas and has a great climate,
and it’s in Nye County (if you know what I mean)

Burlington, VT because its greener, larger, and close to Montreal.

That's a toughy. Will go with New Braunfels. Close to San Antonio. Nice area. But Nashville/Murfreesboro is nice too.
