Reno, NV or Boise, ID?
Reno... Boise seems a little nicer, but I like that Reno is more diverse and I prefer its regional location with proximity to Lake Tahoe and other NoCal destinations within a few hours drive.

Toms River, NJ or Newport, RI?

Interesting comparison. As much as I love Rhode Island - and even though I generally prefer it over NJ - in this matchup I'm going with Toms River. Newport is a great place to visit, but it's a little too frou-frou for day-to-day living. I also prefer Toms River's post-war layout of single-family houses with yards and trees for raising my children. T.R. is far enough removed from both NYC and Philly that the two cities could virtually be ignored. If the children were grown and moved out, I would probably pick Newport.

Colonial Beach, Virginia or South Haven, Michigan?

Colonial Beach. I like its location better and South Haven would be a bit too cold.

Charleston, SC or Madison, WI?

Tulsa seems like a much more interesting city. I wouldn't mind living in the Arts District for a year as a remote worker and using Tulsa as a base to explore other parts of the western South/Missouri/Kansas --- Lubbock doesn't seem to have any similar neighborhoods, and it's in probably the least attractive part of Texas. Really I think El Paso would be a better match for Tulsa.

Burbank, IL or Glenview, IL?

Between these 2 for living, I'd pick Glenview. Although I really LOVE the restaurant Chuck's Southern Comfort BBQ, in Burbank.

Another Chicago area matchup, since I'm feeling inspired: Elgin, or Aurora?

Aurora for sure due to be larger and more independent.

Carson City, NV or Rogers, AR?

Rogers. It's both less isolated than Carson City and in the Ozarks, which is lovely country.

Mission Hills, Kan., or Edina, Minn.?

This was tough, since both towns look nice in slightly different ways. Edina with its parks system, and Mission Hills with its landscaped medians, fountains, hills, and tree cover. I have to slightly give Mission Hills the win, since I like the look of the houses there a little more vs. Edina. Although it's almost a draw for the look of houses, if I look at one of the Edina neighborhoods on the northeast side. But since I like the look of the houses I saw in street view in Mission Hills(vs. various areas of Edina) a little better, I'll give Mission the win. That said Edina also had some nice neighborhoods (particularly Country Club), and I wouldn't be opposed to living there.

Roanoke, VA, or Morgantown, WV?

Roanoke. The city is growing and better positioned for economic success. I like the scenery better as well.

Milwaukee, WI or Baltimore, MD?
