Better than the Compton of the 90's. Far less gang violence. Very close to the Pacific Coast. Comfortable winter weather unlike Gary. Close to LA & OC amenities. Not far from San Diego, one of my favorite places to visit. Have family/friends in CA. Don't know anyone in IN.
El Paso. More southwestern, better weather, closer to the west coast, and a generally more interesting place.
