Let's not pretend that that many people go to Philly for leisure other than people with roots there. It's not that kind of city.
What kind of city, exactly?
You'd be surprised (although you shouldn't be). I know plenty of people, and I live in NY. Its generally seen as one of the top cities in the country for basically everything, and top 5 for urban experience, certainly moreso than Atlanta.

Oh geez. Philly is a solid city, but it's not city people flock to for leisure trips. That is the New York's, Miami's, San Fran's, and Vegas of the world. Even though isn't that kind of city (but ends up being one due to it being the only big city for a large swath of the South). No one should get hurt over that obvious fact.

Philly's not like NYC or DC in that regard (and is at somewhat of a disadvantage being sandwiched between the two) but just from observation since I've been living in the area, it definitely does attract people for leisure beyond folks with roots there. Independence Mall in particular is ALWAYS packed with tourists and it's quite common to see double-decker tour buses and such in Center City during the weekends.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. That's why I said not that many people. There is definitely the historical tourism draw of Philly. Some people find leisure in that.
Neither, but if I had to choose, it would overwhelmingly be Philly. Pennsylvania is beautiful at that time of the year. Absolutely no interest in Atlanta.

Weekends? Those buses operate 7 days a week, and depending upon the weather/time of year, are filled with tourists who, more than likely, have no roots in Philly.

I'm sure but I'm not in the city much during the weekday but I definitely see them on weekends. And Independence Mall is packed with tourists ALL the time.

When you speak of Pennsylvania being beautiful that time of year, are you talking about fall foliage?
