Among which 15 people were killed: article. I wonder why the violence in Chicago increases in a period where everybody celebrates and wants to have fun.

More people outside increasing the chances to meet/find a rival... also more crowd so you shoot up someone chances are bystanders/party goers will get hit in the crossfire

Even during bloody 2016, I can't recall a weekend having this many shot.
The thing that shocked me is the insane number of shootings on the 4th, but essentially no one was shot north of Chicago Ave (which runs right near downtown), I think I saw 2 were north of Chicago, which is probably half the city's population. I was out and about all weekend, the city was absolutely packed and people everywhere with the gorgeous weather. I didn't notice anything at all, but of course I was just all over the north side, downtown and a lot of the west loop.

Baltimore is way way more... it has way more homicides than L.A or NYC but have way way way less people living in...
if Baltimore was the size of Chiraq (in the hypothesis that they homicide rate stays the same, it will have already 600 homicides... The only reason Chiraq is getting all the attentions is well first the absolute most homicide in the nation but mostly former Obama home...

Interestingly, Baltimore I don't think has led the nation is murder rates or ever been a murder capital after all these years of terrible murder rates.

I think its obvious that he or she knows about Baltimore if they made the same consensus about Chicago as you make with Baltimore. No matter how much better one sounds than the next every major city talked about in this thread will likely have a higher homicide rate than the larger cities.
