Except the actual data shows a trend contrary to your statement.

Born in South Central Asia:

New York CSA:
2017 714,704
2013 637,989
2013-2017 Growth: +76,715

I’ll link to the DHS website. Which is for immigration. Also what is south Central Asia? The topic is South Asia. Maybe literacy isn’t a strong point in the Bay Area. Now that you were laughed off SSP I see you continue your BS here, eh diamondpark? Lol.

I decided to do something a little more strenuous and look at South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Nepali) population by census tract for the metro areas NYC, San Francisco, San Jose, Chicago, LA, DC, Houston, and Dallas. That's a total of nearly 15,000 total census tracts along here. If you're talking about influence, then it's about spreading of various things. I looked at actual integration across each census tract, county, and therefore metro areas and looked at various measures.

There are many different measures I've calculated at various levels with this data, most of it has to do with the percentage of people living in areas with a certain minimum percentage of South Asian population percentage living per tract. This measures a lot better the integration aspect of things and essentially "punishes" hyper segregationed tracts for being insular. If the population is spread amongst an area, and not just in one giant enclave, then there's potential for more influence amongst other people in my opinion.

Data was collected from the 2017 ACS, 5 year tables B02015 (Asian alone population) and B01003 (Total Population per geography).

Percentage of non-South Asian population living in census tracts with at least 10% South Asian population, by MSA
1. San Jose MSA: 27.1% of non South Asian population
2. NYC MSA: 9.23%
3. San Francisco MSA: 8.43%
4. Washington DC MSA: 7.59%
5. Chicago MSA: 6.71%
6. Dallas MSA: 5.48%
7. Houston MSA: 5.27%
8. Los Angeles MSA: 1.01%

Percentage of non-South Asian population living in census tracts with at least 10% South Asian population, by County
1. Middlesex County, NJ (NYC): 45.79%
2. Loudoun County, VA (Washington DC): 41.72%
3. Fort Bend County, TX (Houston): 37.55%
4. Somerset County, NJ (NYC): 33.82%
5. Santa Clara County, CA (San Jose): 28.01%
6. Queens County, NY (NYC): 26.6%
7. Hudson County, NJ (NYC): 22.27%
8. Collin County, TX (Dallas): 19.27%
9. DuPage County, IL (Chicago): 18.91%
10. Alameda County, CA (San Francisco): 18.51%
11. Fairfax County, VA (Washington DC): 17.04%
12. Nassau County, NY (NYC): 12.47%
13. Montgomery County, MD (Washington DC): 10.85%
14. Morris County, NJ (NYC): 10.11%
15. Bergen County, NJ (NYC): 9.62%
16. Will County, IL (Chicago): 8.69%
17. Cook County, IL (Chicago): 7.15%
18. Denton County, TX (Dallas): 7.08%
19. Contra Costa County, CA (San Francisco): 6.32%
20. Passaic County, NJ (NYC): 5.98%
21. Dallas County, TX (Dallas): 5.68%
22. Lake County, IL (Chicago): 5.29%
23. Kings County (Brooklyn), NY (NYC): 4.73%
24. Bronx County, NY (NYC): 4.25%
25. Richmond County, NY (NYC): 4.05%
26. San Mateo County, CA (San Francisco): 3.56%
27. Monmouth County, NJ (NYC): 2.41%
28. Prince William County, VA (Washington DC): 2.39%
29. Harris County, TX (Houston): 2.17%
30. Essex County, NJ (NYC): 1.8%
31. Suffolk County, NY (NYC): 1.75%
32. Arlington County, VA (Washington DC): 1.51%
33. Westchester County, NY (NYC): 1.14%
34. Los Angeles County, CA (Los Angeles): 1.07%
35. Tarrant County, TX (Dallas): 0.88%
36. Orange County, CA (Los Angeles): 0.81%
37. Galveston County, TX (Houston): 0.75%
38. New York County (Manhattan), NY (NYC): 0.46%
39. Prince George's County, MD (Washington DC): 0.35%

The next 52 counties are all at 0%. Again, the next step of the starting point but doesn't mean everything. Manhattan for example is pretty low here but since there's so many South Asians who work in Manhattan, there's tons of Indian stores and restaurants in Manhattan as a result despite the relatively low resident population there.

My data is from the Census Bureau and reflects where immigrants have actually settled upon entering the US.

South Central Asia is what the Indian subcontinent is called in this statistic of selected characteristics:

Bogus. South Central Asia includes Iran, Kazakhstan, and other countries that have nothing to do with the Indian Sub-Continent. You are being willfully ignorant at best, and dishonest at worst.

It’s not false. I provided stats straight from the DHS. In the past 5 years NY received as many Bangladeshi immigrants as South Asians as a whole for SF/SJ. Sorry man. Facts are facts.

Yes facts are facts and 'receiving immigrants' isnt the same thing as where they actual settle. If you can't distinguish the difference that's your problem.

In the past 5 years, the Bay Area's South Asian Immigrant population has grown by 80,000 while NY/NJ's has grown by 71,000.

DHS is a lot more reliable data than a sample survey. Can't believe there's even a thought that a sample survey is more accurate than an organization that actually handles this stuff. That's like going to the Census for employment data over the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Pretty frivolous.
