You can actually find hints of New York in nearly every major American or Canadian city, every major city has at least 1 street that is like a New York-lite or something. Los Angeles, for example, is as polar opposite of New York as it gets in almost every humanly imaginable way possible. Yet on countless occasions Los Angeles has been used as a fill in for New York in several movies, television shows, and other media content. Every major city, in my opinion, in the United States has at least one street and/or corridor that's somewhat New Yorkish. At least one.

That's because most Americans aren't familiar enough with NYC to know the difference
Line 1 is the busiest subway line outside NYC by a good margin, so traveling around Toronto might feel quite busy moreso than basically any American city.

None....the Jaguar F type reminds me a little bit of an Aston Martin (a poor man’s version) but it’s no Aston Martin...ditto for a few other cities mentioned relative to NYC.

If someone asked "Which US city reminds you most of SF?", the answer would no doubt be "None!"
for LA? "None!"
for Chicago? "None!"
for New Orleans? "None!"
for Washington? "None!"
for Boston "None!"
so that greatness quality you observed in New York equals other cities as well. New York is a truly great city. New York is not the ultimate city. That one doesn't exist.

Actually whether or not most Americans are familiar with New York has nothing to do with whether or not they have at least one street that is similar. They could be in a coma and that has no bearing on what the street looks like.

It doesn't mean it looks the same at street level, it just means that most people don't know or care
