No clue why Milwaukee is running away with this. This forum can be weird with polls. Louisville is well known as an up and coming city. It has great character a booming economy and a quickly developing downtown. Milwaukee has a nice water front but it's largely a "has been" city that will forever be in Chicago's shadow.
It's easier to find and land work in Milwaukee than in Louisville, especially blue collar. Income taxes are also less than Louisville's.
Also, water matters to C-D posters. They're marks for it. Muh ocean this, muh lakes and rivers that.
I am not surprised. I like both cities, but Milwaukee wins in every category except weather, crime, and segregation. I would choose Milwaukee. Louisville is in growth mode, so this may be closer in the years to come.
I'll take Milwaukee over Louisville, but I do like both a lot and I think the contrast between the two cities, which aren't that far apart from each other, to be pretty good. I wonder if there's anyone that lives half the year in one and half the year in another.

I think both of these statements are true. Though Louisville has invested a lot in their waterfront. Obviously they can't beat Lake Michigan, but it's still worth noting.
Louisville looks nice, but can't touch either of these.
Although it's on a smaller scale, it's very similar to Chicago....Lake Michigan lakefront, and a river running through downtown.
