Same concept as Desert SW but swap Sonoran Spring for Appalachian Spring and much easier to drive between both locations. I picked waitsfield because I really like the Mad River Valley.
I love Vermont and could live there year round For the purposes of this exercise though I will pick Waitsfield, VT from May-November.

For December-April I will go with Houghton, MI because I love winter, snow and besides the UP is gorgeous.

Houghton, MI June-Aug
Honolulu Sept-May

No real desire to live in Houghton, but I guess I could get a boat, and have a quiet summer camping and hiking. I think you can catch the ferry up to Isle Royale from somewhere near there. Would live/work in Honolulu, probably be 3/4 time at work (full time, but only 9 mos of the year. I could probably actually swing that, as summer tends to be the slowest season for my work.

Honolulu.

Do I have to pick another? Hmm, ok, let's just do San Francisco to keep the travel distance reasonable and go back and forth 4 or 5 times a year.

And as always, thanks to the folks who are actually playing the game as intended.
