There was a triple homicide there not long ago. Over the long run it'll even out and fall back down to what's considered low to moderate.

Interesting that nobody is talking about Indianapolis yet with its 23 homicides and a homicide rate higher than DC currently and barely below Philadelphia. Or Detroit which currently has the 3rd highest homicide rate of any city in the US for 2020 (though possible New Orleans is ahead now - my data for New Orleans is 1.5 weeks behind).

I think those who shoot at houses and similar will get charged with aggravated assault charges at a bare minimum, if not attempted murder, because even shots fired can be perceived as a threat to public safety.
That's pretty crazy, 442 shot fired leading to only 18 deaths.. Rockford IL seems comparable to Springfield MA in size and homicide numbers... but i doubt it gets thaat many shots fired calls, but we'll never know. MA doesn't keep track of that.

4th time for shots fired in three days in Brockton..one of which was a guy shooting at multiple vehicles on the highway into Randolph MA. It's like a game or something?

Where did I say that? I said that diversity isn't limited to those groups, and that Americans often think that is all about those groups only.

And you've lost the debate, because both cities are approx 90% from two continents, compared to say, Oakland, which is 28% black, 25% white, 17% Asian, 26% Latin, 4% Pacific Islander or Mixed Race. No city in Canada comes close to anything like that.

You said "If I may tread onto thin ice for a second, he/she is even kinda suggesting that certain components of diversity are more conducive to higher crime rates." Which you punctuated with a tapeface emoji. You can't be that timid and weak that you now can't admit what you said a few posts ago.

But to the topic at hand, Canada and its cities are far less diverse than the United States. Canada's wages are significantly lower than the United States. You might not like these facts, but that doesn't stop them from being true.

As of 2/10 Chicago was at 52, which is 18 more than the same point last year. While not as high as the 2016/2017 insanity, this year nevertheless ranks among the highest totals for murder in the last decade.
