Amazing it takes Chicago a day to achieve what takes 2.5 months in Vancouver.

Austin is at 17. We are on pace for 65+, which would be a record for the city.

Upon research, it appears that Vancouver is amidst of an on and off gang war, one in which most recently resulted in 5 killed in a two weeks span between late December and mid January, and during yesteryears about 20 killed in a matter of 4-6 months. What murders Vancouver sees yearly appear to be mostly gang altercations, primarily between gangs consisting of mostly South Asian descent operating in a broad area known as the Lower Mainlands/South Vancouver. They do things like disrespect dead rivals in rap videos ( in Chiraq fashion) and are in control of drug turfs and the trade of illegal guns. It's kind of weird because at least from a streetview perspective Vancouver strikes me as a city that is thoroughly middle class and up.
